Via

Art communicates beauty. Via means "way" in Latin, and I believe we each have our own way to create. This blog celebrates unique mediums of expression.

"View from Above" poem about the Mississippi River

I wish I could feel

the rocky banks that angle down to the squishy bottom.

The mix of steely rock

and soft mud,

Like a nutty chocolate pudding pie.

Slide down that bank

and create my own grooves-

my own path:

as I descend onto my belly and wiggle in the mushy mud pie floor.

Until I look up,

beckoned by the white light above me dancing on the water's surface.

Hear me St. Louis!

Sneak Peak at Red Rocks Commentary

In looking back at some of my most significant memories with nature, I stumbled upon my 2008 trip to Colorado. Artistically, spiritually, and physically my hike at Red Rocks was a hi-light of my life so far. This picture reminds me to zoom in on the "good stuff." I guess sometimes we have to narrow our sites on the "smaller" picture to focus on the beauty in our lives vs. the struggles or irritations of daily life. I hope this little diamond view of the burnt sienna rocks brings joy and a sense of calm to all who see this post:)
